To round out this spree of spring maintenance on the Passat, I did a Lube, Oil, and Filter change (LOF). The important thing to remember here is to buy the parts from the dealer and Do-It-Yourself. If you go to Jiffy Lube or another quick LOF joint, you're not likely to get the oil filter o-rings replaced, or the washer and drain plug. I used 20W50 weight oil (Castrol from Costco) and put in just under 6 quarts (5 is enough if you don't change out the filter).
